Department: Chelsea Retirement Community | Dining Services Department
Shift Premiums: Beginning 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm $ 1.00 | Weekend (Fri 10:31 pm - Sun 11:00 pm) $ 1.00
Schedule : 16 hours per week.
This role follows a rotating schedule:

  • Week 1: Monday 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Week 2: Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Every other weekend rotation required

Additional hours may be available. Candidates willing to pick up additional shifts are encouraged to apply. Other shifts may include:

  • 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
  • 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

What You’ll Do in This Role:
As a Cook in our scratch kitchen, you'll have the opportunity to create wholesome, delicious meals that not only nourish but also bring joy to the hearts of older adults. You'll be the one behind the smiles, crafting food that connects and delights. Every meal you prepare will make a meaningful impact, helping our residents feel cared for, loved, and energized.   • Prepare and cook a variety of delicious, nutritious meals that fuel and delight our residents.
  • Collaborate with our creative team to design healthy, flavorful dishes that excite the taste buds.
  • Skillfully cater to special dietary needs and restrictions with care and precision.
  • Elevate every meal to perfection, ensuring it’s not only of the highest quality but beautifully presented.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Experience in a professional kitchen as a cook, line cook, or prep cook in the food service industry is preferred.  On-the-job training provided.
  • Culinary Education, preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification, preferred.
  • HS Diploma/ GED, required.
  • Ability to participate in frequent stooping and bending, lifting up to 35 pounds.
