Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Type: Contract

Shift: Night Shift

Hours: 9:30 PM - 6:30 AM

Schedule Requirement: Every other weekend and holiday shifts required


Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist with a minimum of 3 years of experience . The ideal candidate will be comfortable working night shift and supporting specimen collection, sample processing, patient registration support, and laboratory workflow in a fast-paced clinical environment.


Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience
• Must be available for every other weekend and holiday shifts
• Strong specimen collection, labeling, and processing skills
• Familiarity with Hospital Information System (HIS) and Laboratory Information System (LIS) preferred
• Strong patient interaction and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a clinical/laboratory setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform phlebotomy using proper patient identification and specimen labeling procedures
• Assess orders for collection requirements, patient preparation, and order of draw
• Collect blood specimens and additional samples including throat swabs, MRSA swabs, urine samples, heel sticks, finger sticks, blood cultures, and blood bank specimens
• Accession, centrifuge, aliquot, batch, and deliver specimens appropriately
• Perform patient registration, demographic and insurance data entry, and payment collection as needed
• Resolve unusual or unclear orders with physicians, nurses, or reference laboratories
• Provide patient instruction for specimen collection and handling
• Support specialized sample collections, waived testing, and additional laboratory duties as assigned
• Assist with inventory, supplies, result entry, temperature checks, and general lab support

Additional Notes:

• May be required to perform specimen collections at client sites, patient homes, or facilities depending on location needs
• Must be comfortable with patient-facing collection work and laboratory support duties
