As a Senior Database Engineer, you will support the design, deployment, and operation of cutting-edge IT and OT solutions at one of our most critical semiconductor manufacturing sites in Richardson, Texas


You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize database technologies (MS SQL, Oracle), driving digital transformation and operational excellence across semiconductor manufacturing and business systems.
You will also lead the transition from legacy reporting systems to a modern data architecture, implementing a robust data mart and data warehouse model to support advanced analytics and decision-making across the site.
This site will be leveraging increasing AI based semiconductor centric automation, equipment integration, fault detection (FDC), and advanced process control (APC) solutions within manufacturing that will have this role deploying and supporting bleeding edge database platforms at all levels.



Key Responsibilities
• Operational support of on-premises databases spanning from equipment / process related through enterprise application related.
• Develop and deploy high-availability database solutions in MS SQL for manufacturing applications functions (MES, SCADA, Historian).
• Ready to learn and support other database technologies (Oracle, DB2)
• Migrate legacy reporting solutions to a data mart / data warehouse model.
• Design and implement advanced SQL procedures, views and develop dynamic SSRS / Power BI based reports (including drill-down, dashboards, and multi-parameter formats) to support complex analytics and reporting needs.
• Application Integrated Database Engineering - the practice of designing, developing, and managing databases in tight coordination with the applications that use them.
• Create and maintain processes and documentation for various database activities including architecture, user access, user termination, DB creation, DB migration, DB security, and Service Now knowledge etc.
• Mentor other team members in best practices and methods around DB queries and use.
• Troubleshoot performance issues related to virtualized and physical database workloads.
• Facilitate implementation of new technology stacks and migration of workloads from physical servers to virtualized instances wherever possible.
• Work with semiconductor process, equipment, and application vendors to continually evolve databases for the best performance and fault tolerance.
• Ensure 24 X 7 database monitoring and auditing tools are in place and effectively used.
• Participate in calls / meetings with site and corporate team members to address and troubleshoot application and database related issues impacting operations.
• Participate in daily tier meetings with factory systems and manufacturing operations teams.
• Work with Corporate IT and Global Security to maintain all databases to corporate and semiconductor cyber security standards.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL
• 5+ years of experience with database tuning.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL Server Management Studio
• 2+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
• 1+ years of experience with ServiceNow or another similar formal Service Management platform and/or methodology
